As some of you may know !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . I’ve been shopping around a bit for tires and I think I’ve found the next set.
BF Goodrich G Force Comp 2 A/S
I was initially wanting Nokian WRG3 All weather tires but since you can only get them from one place in Canada(Kal-Tire) they are quite pricey. I was looking at $1234.78 installed.
I thought to myself “man that’s a little steep” so I checked Costco since their prices are usually unbeatable and there they were. $209.99/tire with an instant $50 rebate on a set of 4. Four tires installed comes in at $909.25 a WHOPPING $325.53 less than the Nokians.
I’ve read the reviews on the BF Goodrich and they are overwhelmingly positive. So I’m pretty sure these are the ones I’ll end up going with.
UPDATE: I’ve just ordered these tires and should have them on in the next few days.

Just installed a set of these on my Focus. Huge improvement, especially in the wet, compared to my from-the-factory Kumho Solus tires. I was very excited to get these and I have not been disappointed.

Sounds good!
If you want even cheaper (maybe, because Canada, who knows). Check out the General Ameritrac RT43. That’s what i put on that Malibu I had for a while, and MontegoMan put them on his Milan. It’s an excellent tire, and I only paid a bit over $100 a piece.

I think you are up north so this might not be an option but I know a lot of people who buy off Tirerack.com and have them shipped to Montana Shipping Outlet’s and pick them up, can save a lot that way.

I’d don’t think we even have that particular tire in Canada. I’m dealing with 235/45R18 so all the tires here are $200+ unless I go with some offshore tire.
These tires work out to be $197.50 and they are VERY well reviewed and a brand I trust. My mind is pretty much set on these now as Costco is hundreds of dollars less than anywhere else for the same tire. Also $15/tire for installation including nitrogen. All the other places is $29/tire with plain air.

The border is and 8 hour drive each way so it’s definitely not worth the trip to save a few bucks. You’d have to save at least $500 to make it worth it.

Sometimes you do, seem to remember you are in Edmonton for some reason. Those tires should be sweet on the Fusion though, Costco for the win!

I did not get anything yet. But those are not one of the choices at costco so no bueno.
Also this is a fwd family car so I don’t think I need R rated tires.

Yes 30mins north of Edmonton. Costco really is the best when it comes to tires.

Sounds like you have this well sorted but I did want to say shop-teacher is right, the General Altimax Rt43 has been a great tire for the Milan in Michigan, did great in all weather. I don’t know if it is right for you as I’m sure you’ll be running winter tires in the winter right? I think that’s a law in Canada?
The RT43's were only about 85-90 a tire (USD) btw.

I put these on my 300 last fall because of the same reason as you. So far so good. They went through winter pretty well with a RWD car.
I also chose these due to the price.

Only a law in Quebec and BC. Where I am it gets cold but it doesn’t snow all that often. All seasons are fine. Winters are definitely ideal but not a necessity.

gotcha.
I have to say i’ve been amazed at how good the RT43's are. I was a little worried about buying General’s but damn they’ve been great. They’re staying on the car for rally cross next month too

Walmart has a Goodyear tire, the Viva 3 touring radial, at a very good price. I shod three of my cars this year with that tire.

I would love to know how they do in cold - not snow or rain, just cold. I don’t drive my Abarth when it rains, when there is melt-off, or any snow on the road (shut up she’s my baby and I have a Forester XT for those days), but I do drive her when it is sunny and 30 degrees. I wonder if they have any bite when it is that cold.

According to the reviews they are good in the snow and ice too(even if they are not really meant for it) I’ll be driving these year round. If I got around with my crap Goodyears last winter I’ll be find the these.

That’s the effect I was hoping for. It wasn’t something I said lightly. This parenthood thing changes everything, doesn’t it?
Two weeks ago I had my truck taken apart, and was due to pick up my girls in a bit over an hour. That’s when I noticed the front tires of my Roadmaster were totally FUBARed. The tread was fine, but there were massive cracks all the way around the bead of each tire. I headed straight for the closest tire shop, and had them throw a pair of those Generals on immediately. I wasn't about to put my babies on those tires. The whole thing happened so quickly, I didn't even think to take a picture of how bad they were.

Yup changes everything. Gets pricey real quick too.
Ah well it’s well worth it in the end. I’m excited to try the new rubber out.

No doubt about it!
I’m sure you’ll love the new rubber. The Malibu had those Eagle LS2s on them when I got it, and I hated them. They grabbed every pavement marker or imperfection they could find.

Yup those tires were pure garbage from day one. These new tires should be a total transformation versus the stockers.
The stock tires are rated as 3 out of 5 on tirerack. The new BFgoodrich? 4.7 out of 5!

I can’t imagine giving those POS tires a 3 out of 5! How bad do they have to be to get a 1?
Luc - The Acadian Oppo

I’d personally give them a 1 simply because they hold air. I can’t give them a zero because of that.

That pretty well sums up the way I felt about those tires.
